Since 1571, when William Slingsby discovered the unique properties of the natural spring water from the Tewit Well in Harrogate, discerning individuals have sought out the picturesque Yorkshire town to restore body, mind and soul by relaxing, indulging and socialising. Slingsby did things differently, thought differently and had a vision that others considered to be extraordinary or even, a little odd; he epitomised the Spirit of Harrogate and we are proud that our unique spirits bear his name.
The key ingredients of Slingsby Gin are hand-grown local plants that are synonymous with the beautiful and restorative nature of Harrogate. These are complemented with water drawn from the world-famous Harrogate aquifer, pure single grain spirit and a handful of the finest ingredients sourced from around the world. All are expertly brought together and hand finished in North Yorkshire.
MODERN AUSTRALIAN WHISKY
David Vitale, our founder, started off with a simple vision; create a uniquely Australian whisky we can offer the world with pride. Born and bred in Melbourne, he was inspired to create a spirit that reflects his home town – from its culture to its famed ‘four seasons in a day’ temperature swings. It is a city surrounded by some of Australia’s leading wine regions – all within a day’s drive – and is regarded as the micro-brewing capital of Australia.
It seems obvious now that all the ingredients for a modern Australian whisky were close by. But, in 2007, when he first started, the idea of an approachable, affordable Australian whisky – served neat or as a cocktail with food – was a big leap of faith.
The result is STARWARD. A modern Australian whisky, elementally matured for three “Melbourne years” in Australian wine barrels, that pushes the boundaries of what whisky can be.
AUSTRALIAN WHISKY, AUSTRALIAN WINE BARRELS
Australian wine makers have for decades championed innovation. Today, around the world, our wines are regarded as credible alternatives to traditional European staples. Their audacity, to take on the “old-world” establishment, was all the inspiration we needed to use Australian wine barrels.
Drawing on the vibrancy of big bold reds like Shiraz and Cabernet, as well as delicate notes in Pinot and Rosé, STARWARD delivers on our promise of a uniquely Australian whisky.
As our bold, rich and bright wine casks mature in the city’s “four seasons in a day” climate, our whisky expands and contracts more frequently than those in other more traditional whisky making countries. And, unlike Scotch whisky, as our whisky matures the alcohol content goes up, not down. We call this Elemental Maturation.
Motivated by a passion for nature and a love of the land and all it gives us, husband and wife team Tom & Tina Warner had one ambition; to save the world from mediocre gin by creating an epic product that was farm-made and steeped in authenticity.
All of our gins are hand-crafted on Falls Farm in Northamptonshire using our pure natural spring water and using hedgerow botanicals and herbs from our garden wherever possible. We take inspiration from the landscape on the farm to create our award winning gins Harrington Dry, Victoria’s Rhubarb, Elderflower, Sloe, Melissa Lemon Balm and our latest edition Honeybee.

Now in its ninth year, London Cocktail Week is the largest cocktail event of its kind anywhere in the world and has grown to attract record numbers. It was created as a chance to open the doors to some of London’s best venues and showcase the best bartenders and spirits brands to an increasingly large number of willing consumers. The festival has since spawned a number of other major London drinks events, including London Wine Week and Espresso Martini Fest and in 2015 the team launched DrinkUp.London as an insiders’ guide to drinking in the Capital all year round. With a weekly newsletter to its database of drinks enthusiasts, an in-house ticketing system and a growing social media following, DrinkUp.London has quickly become a primary platform for drinks-specific event marketing as well as a trusted resource for consumers looking for the very best bars in London. DrinkUp.London festivals have welcomed over 200,000 guests and injected more than two million pounds of revenue directly back into the London hospitality trade through the festival pass scheme alone.
